reflective essay
As I stepped in my semester 2, everyone was compulsory to take a core course, called Effective Public Communication (EPC). At first, I really confused that why this course is necessary to take. I thought public speaking is something need to be trained and is nothing about in "CLASS". Until I met with Mr Ridhwan and he mentioned that this course is totally different from normal public speaking during the class.
Initially, I felt like dying as I know I need to memorize lot of principles and rules. Luckily, our EPC assignments were so interesting. Therefore, I had learned many skills and techniques for us to communicate with different kind of people while we were having fun in our assignments. The projects also enlarged our knowledge about the places and buildings when we were doing research. As both of our assignments are included presentations, I had put lot of effort to make myself be ready and try not to be too nervous for each presentation. For the last assignment, I need to done all the slides and presentation for 20 minutes individually. I had struggled quite long time to encounter my nervous. At the end, I was able to present smoother than I thought. Hence, I found myself really had improved during the presentation skill through these assignments.
Furthermore, our lovely lecturer, Mr Ridhwan have high sense of humor during the class as well as reduce boredom of those principles and rules by giving lot of interesting examples. He is really friendly and easy to mingle with his students. In this period of time with Mr Ridhwan, I was able to comprehend this subject with his concise lecture notes and classes.
In conclusion, I have no regret to go through this course with Mr Ridhwan and my fellow friends. Is really interesting to learn something in the ways that different from our previous schools and I know it would help us a lot in the future. Before I terminate my reflective essay, I would like to say thanks to my lecturer and my friends who had helped me or cooperated with me in this module.
